Fr. Collins Park

Fr. Collins Park
Clongriffin, Dublin 13 , Dublin 12

Irelands first wholly sustainable park opened in May 2009. The park is located in the heart of the 'North Fringe '- the new communities of Clongriffen and Belmayne, between the Hole in the Wall Road and the Mayne River in Donaghmede.

The park extends to 26 hectares and was named after a much respected local parish priest - Father Collins, who was instrumental in its original acquisition for development as a public park.
Father Collins Park uses the principle of sustainability in its design & features. The power requirements for public lighting and water features are partially generated on site by 5 wind-turbines.
The park takes a lead in Ireland for demonstrating the integration of sustainable technologies into the design of public spaces. The striking contemporary design also includes a promenade projecting into a central lake flanked by the five wind turbines that provide towards the park's energy.
